GLADIUS

Gateway & Log Automated Diagnostics for Immediate User Support

Welcome to GLADIUS! Please share any feedback in Slack, in the #net-gladius channel.

Purpose of GLADIUS

The Cloudflare WARP Client generates extensive logs and stores them locally. When an OPENLANE Waybuilder reports that their computer can't maintain a reliable network connection, these logs often provide the metrics and errors needed to determine the cause of their misfortune.

These logs can be exported in a WARP Diagnostic Archive (a warp diag), but each WARP Diagnostic Archive contains dozens of log files, many hundreds of lines long.

GLADIUS exists to rapidly parse these logs, flag common problems that can impact network connectivity, and recommend actions to improve our Waybuilder's network experience. The goal of GLADIUS is to turn escalations and multi week troubleshooting sessions into a quick answer for the majority of user specific network issues.

How to Generate a WARP Diagnostic Archive (WARP Diag)

WARP Diagnostic archives are generated locally on the user's computer. Please work with the user to run the following commands, and request that they send you the resulting zip file.

Windows

  1. Open Command Prompt or PowerShell.
  2. Run warp-diag.
  3. Find the warp-debugging-info-*.zip file on the user's Desktop.

macOS

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Run warp-diag.
  3. Find the warp-debugging-info-*.zip file on the user's Desktop.

Do not extract or edit the ZIP before uploading.
